Terms of Service

Last updated: 22 May 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the PromptPilot website and desktop application (together, the "Service"), operated by Zongyu Xie ("we", "us"). By using the Service or creating an account, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What PromptPilot is

PromptPilot is a library of ready-to-use AI prompt templates and related tools. It helps you fill in and send prompts to third-party AI assistants, and (in the desktop app) to local AI models. PromptPilot does not itself generate AI answers; the answers come from the AI service you choose to use.

2. Accounts

3. Free and Pro

4. License to use

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service and its prompt library for your own personal or business purposes. You may freely use the outputs you generate with the prompts. You may not resell, redistribute, sublicense, or publish the prompt library itself (in whole or substantial part) as a competing product, nor share Pro access or activation codes.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the Service for any unlawful purpose; attempt to bypass the free/Pro restrictions or reverse-engineer the Service to do so; resell or redistribute the prompt library; or use the Service to create harmful, deceptive, or infringing content.

6. Third-party AI services — important

PromptPilot is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by OpenAI (ChatGPT), Anthropic (Claude), Microsoft (Copilot), Google (Gemini), or DeepSeek. Their names are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to describe compatibility.

When you send a prompt to a third-party AI service, you are using that service directly and must comply with its own terms of service. We are not responsible for those services, their availability, their content policies, or any changes they make.

7. Payments and refunds

Pro activation codes and coin packs are sold through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as our merchant of record and processes all payments. Purchases are subject to Lemon Squeezy's terms. If you are entitled to a refund under applicable consumer law (for example, the EU right of withdrawal for digital products, where not waived), please contact us or Lemon Squeezy. We aim to handle reasonable refund requests fairly.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

AI-generated answers may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any AI output before relying on it. The Service does not provide legal, financial, medical, or other professional advice; prompts in those categories are for general information only.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or revenue, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

10. Intellectual property

The PromptPilot name, the curated prompt library, the software, and the design of the Service are owned by us and protected by applicable laws. These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you beyond the license in Section 4.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as disclaimers, limitation of liability, and intellectual property) will continue to apply.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be handled by the state or federal courts located in Connecticut, unless mandatory consumer-protection law gives you other rights.
